Zutaten
  1. 500g Red Cabbage
  2. 1 Apple
  3. 1 Onion
  4. 2 tbsp Honey
  5. 2 tbsp Cranberries
  6. 150 ml Port Wine
  7. 300 ml Red Wine
  8. 100 ml Apple Juice
  9. 8 Juniper Berries
  10. 1 Bay Leaf
  11. Salt
  12. Pepper
Zubereitung
  1. First of all you have to chop the red caggabe. Therefore you should cut it in half with a huge knife. Then you should get rid of the stump. Now you can chop it into thin slices.
  2. Chop the onion as well.
  3. Braise the onions in some butter and give in the red cabbage.
  4. deglaze it with the port- and red wine. Give in the bay leaf, juniper berries, salt and pepper and let it simmer for 90 minutes with closed lid. Don't forget to stir from time to time.
  5. chop the Apple and give it in with the cranberries and honey as well. Cook for further 30 minutes.
  6. The red cabbage is done and tastes even better than bought one!
Tip
  1. Prepare the red cabbage one or two days before and let it get even better before serving.
